Biography

Ross Gordon Bosen, age 83, passed away at his home on June 4, 2014. Ross was born July 12, 1930 in SLC, Utah, to Elmer Benar Bosen and Viola Service. He is a graduate of West High School and attended
the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Yvonne Elaine Esklund in the Salt Lake Temple on August 8, 1952 before being drafted into the Army. He served at the Sandia Base Special Weapons Project in Albuquerque, NM. Following his military service, he returned to Salt Lake where he worked for Utah Power & Light for 35 years, retiring in 1987. During these years he worked primarily in the managing of steam power generating plants. He was resident engineer on construction of the Naughton power plant at Kemmerer, WY and subsequently supervised operation of that plant. He later managed the steam generation department of the company for seventeen years.
He was active in the LDS church serving in many positions of leadership and service. He served as a worker in the Bountiful Temple for five years.
In his early years he and Yvonne enjoyed dancing. He took up photography and spent many hours in the darkroom. He could engineer a solution to any problem around the house and was a meticulous craftsman. Ross was a protector and provider for his wife and three daughters whom he loved very much. He especially appreciated his good neighbors and their kindness to him. The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their support this past month.
Preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne; parents, brother Don and son-in-law, Brad Keeler. He is survived by his daughters, Pam (Steve) Tucker, Jennifer (Ed) Eyring, Gail (Brad) Keeler; brother, Lynn Bosen; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 10, 2014 at the Bountiful 30th Ward chapel, 2150 S. 650 E., Bountiful. A viewing will be held Monday, June 9 from 6:00-7:30 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful. A viewing will be held prior to the service on Tuesday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 at the church.
