Rowene Call

July 6, 1936 — May 8, 2014

Rowene Riley Call passed away May 8, 2014. She was born July 6, 1936, grew up in Bountiful & graduated from Davis High School in 1954. She would have attended her 60th class reunion this year. She married her high school sweetheart, Alan Call on April 28, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Farmington for 46 yrs. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alan Call, her children Vicky (Phil) Wright, Sally (Jeff) Plott, Pam (Rick) Pewtress, Michael (Corrie) Call. She has 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She loved and celebrated the addition of each new family member. She is preceded in death by her parents, L. Glen & Lois B. Riley, brothers Kay & Leon Riley, sisters Alta Brown & Mary Lynn Coon and grandson, Lance Pewtress.
She was a faithful, dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which she loved with all her heart. She served as Ward Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society Presidents as well as Stake Young Women’s President. She served as a full-time missionary with her husband Alan, in the Denver North Mission. Regardless of her calling she served with love, joy and with a servant’s heart. Wherever she served, lives were deeply touched & changed for good. For most of her life, she struggled with, and courageously rose above many physical illnesses and challenges. She was ever grateful for her many blessings and the miracles she received. Her faith and love for her Savior along with her love for her family brought her great joy and sustained her. She was a patient, loving teacher and a great example to all. She truly loved people and had many friends. Her loss will be greatly felt.
The viewing will be held Monday, May 12, at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 No. Main in Farmington, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 13 at 10:00am at Compton Bench Chapel, 850 No. Compton Rd, Farmington with a viewing from 9:00 to 9:30am. Interment, Bountiful Cemetery.
