Roy Bridenstine

August 13, 1932 — March 3, 2014

Roy passed away as he always wanted to at his home in Layton on March 3, 2014. He was born on August 13, 1932 in Provo Utah to Roy Harold Bridenstine Sr. and Clara Blanch Preece Bridenstine. He has since lived in Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, California, Alaska and settled in Layton Utah when he built his home in 1986.

Roy served in the Army almost right out of high school. He served in the Korean War as an explosive ordinance disposal specialist. He also worked as a mechanic at Preece Motor then for an aircraft support contractor at Hill Air Force Base. He later went to work for National Lead and retired at Western Zirconium.

He was a member of the LDS church and he loved his heavenly father and family dearly. He thoroughly enjoyed nature hiking, fishing, hunting, and camping, especially with his grandchildren. He was a very avid walker, and neighbors would see him walking early in the morning all over Layton. He was a kind and helpful neighbor, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Although he was carefully generous, and may have seemed tough on the outside, Roy Bridenstine had a heart of gold.

He is survived by his wife Betty Ellen Thompson Bridenstine and his three sons Danny, David, and Tony Bridenstine. He had 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He was loved dearly by a number of siblings whom he was very close to, and will be missed by many.

Funeral Services will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 1941 North Main, Farmington UT 84025. The Family Visitation Service will be held Saturday March 8th from 9:45am-10:45am. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am-12:00pm.
