Ruby Evans

October 29, 1937 — April 7, 2012

West Bountiful- Ruby Harris Evans passed away peacefully Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Bountiful, Utah. Born in Orem, Utah on October 28, 1937 to Seldon and Alice Harris. Graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, Seminary, and Henager’s Business College. Worked for Davis County Clipper for 37 years, which she truly enjoyed and has missed since retiring.
Married her best friend Charles “S” Evans, Jr. who preceded her in death after 43 years of marriage. “He broke our contract, I was to go first. We’ll have a little chat about that.”
Survived by three children, Debra (Al) Smith, Charles “Chuck” (Robin) Evans, and Dee (Trish) Evans; 14 loving and caring grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald and Lloyd Harris of Bountiful, and sister, Lucille Taylor. Preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; father, Seldon Harris; mother, Alice Williamson Harris; and grandson, Joshua Gallegos.
Ruby was a member of the LDS Church, the DUP and enjoyed her many callings..
“Thanks to all my friends and Charlie’s family for the memories. I have alot of stories to tell Grandpa Charlie when I see him. Perhaps he will have a joke for me.
I’m sure Grandpa Charlie, Dad and grandson, Joshua have been working on some new jokes.”
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Centerville 1st Ward, 160 South 300 East. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Thursday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.
