RULON NEWELL CARTER
1927 – 2012

Newell was born Oct. 31, 1927 in Orem, Utah, to Elwood Berlin Carter and Malinda Ella Newell Carter. He was the oldest of six, who were Bob, Vern, Linda Mae, Lila Jean and Christian Sandy. Only Vern survives. He graduated from Tabiona High School and served a full-time mission to Norway. Enlisted in the Air Force during Korean conflict.

Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served as counselor in bishopric, on Stake High Council, Stake and Ward Mission Leader and many years as leader in Special Needs Mutual.

Married Amber Michie 20 February 1953 in Salt Lake Temple. She survives him.

Funeral services June 8, 2012 in Riverside First Ward, 1148 West 500 North, Salt Lake City at 11 am, Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 at the Ward prior to services. Burial will follow in Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah
