On February 24, 2016 the world lost a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was born at home in Clearfield UT on June 24, 1925 to Delbert and Myrtle Jaques. She loved being raised on a farm with her 3 older brothers, Darrell, Dale and Keith (all deceased) and her younger sister Elda Stevenson.
Mom was a storyteller. We grew up hearing about one day, while attending Davis High School she went around the corner at full speed with a pile of books and ran straight into a "handsome boy" from Bountiful named LaMar Hatch. It was love at first crash! They were married on October 7, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. They've spent the last 73 years together loving and caring for each other. What a great example to us kids for having the closest thing to a "perfect marriage".
Mom was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She spent many years serving others, whether it was being the Relief Society President or a primary teacher. She loved and served willingly. She worked for 25 years as a medical records librarian at Lakeview Hospital and 30+ years volunteering there.
Mom said her greatest joy was being a wife and mother. She's survived by her sweetheart, LaMar, 3 loving children; Garry L. Hatch, Robert A. Hatch (Karla) and Pam J. White (Jack), 11 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Scott A. Hatch and Steven K. Hatch.
The viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 6-8 pm. Funeral will be held at the Bountiful 4th Ward Chapel on 102 East 1400 South on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 11:00 am with a viewing prior to services from 9:45-10:45.
In lieu of flowers, Mom's wishes were to make donations to the Autism Society, Make a Wish Foundation, or Primary Children's Hospital.
