Ruth McIntyre

d. January 5, 2008

Our mother, grandmother and sister, Ruth Simons McIntyre, was reunited with her husband Clyde after her death on Saturday, 5 January 2008, at the age of 91 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born in Sutherland, Utah on 26 March 1916 to Marr Dixon Simons and Elsie Marie Nott. When Elsie remarried, Ruth was raised by her mother and her loving father, Arley George. She was the oldest of 10 children in this family. Ruth was married to Clyde McIntyre on 28 Sep 1932 in Brigham City, Utah. They were sealed on 12 Jun 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed music, and shared her talents freely. She had a lovely alto voice, and sang in a trio at many church functions, and in ward, stake, and community choirs. She served as an accompanist for over seventy years, for soloists, duets, trios, quartets, choirs, congregations, and for Clyde as he played on the saw. She and Clyde served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple for 13 years. She is survived by her four children, Shirlene Loren Wright, Marjorie Slade, Kay Lorraine Douglas Brown and Dale Clyde McIntyre; brothers and sisters: Carol Olsen, Steve Aldena George, Leo Phyllis George, Bob Helen George, Marr Dixon Jean Simons, Cora Lloyd Ricks, brother-in-law Irvin Betty McIntyre, sisters-in-law Evaleen George, Bette George, and Mary Barres Jenkins. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons in law, Clifford Brande and Harold Slade, brothers and sisters: Wallace George, Glen Olsen, Floyd and Pat George, DeWayne George, Helen and Don Stanger, Rhea Stanger and Milan Westwood, Robert Simons and Marjorie Simons. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9 January at 11:00 in the Centerville First Ward, 160 South 300 East. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service. Interment, Centerville City Cemetery. The family gives thanks to Dr. Val Hansen and his staff, and the doctors and staffs at Lakeview Hospital and Orchard Cove. A special thanks to Moms good friend and walking companion, Wanda Clayton, for her years of friendship and understanding. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
