Ruth Robinson Pearce, 90, passed away October 31, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born November 20, 1925 in Coalville, Utah to George and Leah Robinson. Ruth graduated from North Summit High School and nursing school at Saint Mary’s of the Wasatch. She completed postgraduate training at Washington University in St. Louis preparing her to organize and run an allergy clinic in Salt Lake City.
She married Stephen K. Pearce in 1947, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a mother of three children, Janet, Robyn and Stephen Dean.
Ruth was a very loving and nurturing person. Because of her nursing skills she was highly sought after. She cared for her many patients with skill, love, and tenderness. She cared for her ailing husband all of their married life. She cared for her aging parents and many other family members. Following her retirement, she was called to serve a one year mission at the Provo MTC. She was released after serving thousands of missionaries for over 13 years. She served in many LDS church callings, service to others was her motto.
Some of her greatest loves include: family, barbeques, knitting, grandpas candy can, cookies, black licorice and anything chocolate.
She is survived by daughter Robyn Steed (Bob), Pleasant Grove, Utah. Son, Stephen Dean (Cheryl), Mesquite, Nevada. 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Saxton, Seattle, Washington. Preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Keats Pearce, daughter Janet Davis, brother Keith Robinson, and sister Helen Rae Murphy.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 11:00 -11:45 am at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main St. Graveside services to following at Noon at Bountiful City Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to an open house at Ruth’s house in Orem, Utah between the hours of 5-7 pm.
