Ruth Tovey

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully June 7, 2014 at the age of 97 in Bountiful, Utah.
Ruth was born December 13, 1916 in Clark, Jefferson, Idaho to William B. and Hazel Jane Lee Batt. Ruth graduated from Davis High School and then married her sweetheart, Raymond Charles Tovey in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, December 19, 1934. They had 5 children: Shirley (Dee) Handy, Deanne (Cliff) Bell, Kim (LaRene) Tovey, Janice (Tom) Gledhill and Sharon (Doug) Moss.
She held many church positions throughout her life, and was always an example of kindness and love – we will truly miss her.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother, Dorothy, Berniece, and William (Bill). She is survived by her 5 children; 24 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Friday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
The family appreciates the loving care shown Ruth while residing at Heritage Place and with final care given by Inspiration Hospice.
