Our beautiful wife and mother RuthAnn Brown Baker returned to her Father in Heaven on October 12, 2021, at home, surrounded by her adoring family. She was born December 13, 1948 in Tooele, Utah as the fifth child in a family of seven children who’s parents were Kenneth and Edith Brown.
RuthAnn graduated from Tooele High in 1967. She had a beautiful alto voice and sang in many high school events. RuthAnn and her brother, Joesph, were members of one of the first seminary choirs to sing in the tabernacle for General Conference . She was a model for her family business, The Merc, and modeled for Jack’s Bridal Arts in Salt Lake. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints in her ancestral land of Sweden from March 1970 – November 1971. She attended college at Brigham Young University and worked at the BYU bookstore. It is there, she met the love of her life, Loyal Baker. They married in the SLC Temple August 10, 1972. To this wonderful marriage, they welcomed 14 children, 7 boys and 7 girls. She was the rock and glue to the family. Everyone could turn to her for love and support whenever they needed. She was the family babysitter and loved to watch all her grandkids while her kids worked. She loved to have her children and grandchildren around every second she could. She often would sit for hours just to listen to her kids play games and talk about past stories of childhood. One of her last, and favorite, family trips was to North Carolina to attended her son’s, Joshua, graduation from Medical School. After she raised her kids, she went back to school to further her education and became a Medical Assistant. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in the Church, her favorite was being the Relief Society Chorister where she lead the singing and taught about the origins of the hymns. She has had a profound influence on everyone and has lived her life touching our hearts and lifting our spirits.
