Ryan Patrick Hale, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, died on October 13, 2024, at the age of 54, just a week shy of turning 55. Ryan passed away at St. Mark’s Hospital in Millcreek, Utah, following a debilitating pulmonary embolism.
Ryan was born, as was his brother Chris, in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 20, 1969, to Anne and Sherm. Melissa joined them nearly four years later in 1973. Ryan was diagnosed with epilepsy at 11. The family lived in the Salt Lake area through 1982, and then moved to Pleasanton, California. There, Ryan attended Harvest Park Middle School and graduated from Amador Valley High School in 1988. He served a mission in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, from 1989–1991. He graduated from Weber State University with a degree in communications/public relations in 2007. In 2014, he received his MBA from Western Governor’s University in health administration.
Ryan and Maggie met in Pleasanton when he was a senior at Amador and she, a freshman. The two stayed close while he was on his mission. When he returned home, he knew she was his soul mate and they married on December 21, 1991, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had 4 children, Tori, Liv, Ian and Liam. Ian and Liam are twins, just like their father and Uncle Chris. His children were his pride and joy. His family was his lifeblood and he loved everyone close to him unconditionally with heart and soul.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Maggie, nee, Mahoney), daughters Victoria (Tori) and Olivia (Liv), sons, Ian and Liam, father, Sherman (Sherm) William Hale, twin brother, Christian (Chris), and sister, Melissa Christensen (Kevin). Ryan is preceded in death by his mother, Anne Hunter Hale.
