Sabino De Luna Toribio
August 29, 1933- July 20, 2023
Sabino died peacefully after complications due to age, four days after the last celebration of his life in the company of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the tranquility of his home.
Sabino was the son of Emidio Luna Gonzalez and Maria de Jesus Toribio Sanchez. He was from Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.
He loved animals, particularly horses. Enjoyed the outdoors and country life, hunting and fishing. Sabino had great knowledge of heavy and industrial machinery. And was a great builder of houses, buildings and large structures.
In 1956 at the age of 23, the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, President David O. McKay personally extended Sabino a mission call to go to the southwestern regions of Mexico.
Elder De Luna was a pioneer missionary on Mexican soil. He went around preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, baptizing, and organizing the first branches and wards of Monterrey, Ozumba Veracruz, Puebla and Reynosa Tamaulipas among others.
He also actively participated in the construction of the first chapels of the church in Mexico.
Sabino served as a Salt Lake City temple worker.
He is leaving a legacy of knowledge and culture to those who were blessed to know him.

A viewing will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at Russon Mortuary & Crematory, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington. Graveside services will be after the viewing at 10:00 a.m. at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
