Sandra Beckstrand

Our dear sister, aunt, and friend, Sandra Beckstrand, 66, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2016. 

Sandra, the oldest of six children, was born October 2, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Milton Beckstrand and Jean Lambert Beckstrand.

Sandra lived most of her life in Bountiful and graduated from Viewmont High School.  She attended school at Utah State University and graduated from LDS Business College.  Sandy worked at LDS Social Services where she had the joy of working with children.  She especially enjoyed the newborns.  She later worked for the LDS Church as a secretary in the Personnel Department and a library assistant in the Historical Department.  She was a talented musician. She played the piano and violin and loved to sing. 

Sandy was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings where she could use her musical talent.  She served missions in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Salt Lake City.

Sandy is survived by her sister Janice (Bryan) Hough, brothers Craig (Tylene) Beckstrand and Neil (Laurie) Beckstrand, sisters-in-law Lori (Bob) Thomas and Karin Beckstrand; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ronald and Mark.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Envision Hospice and Heritage Place Memory Care for their loving care and support.

Funeral services will be held December 27th at the Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful at 11:00 am.  A viewing will be held that morning prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 am.  Interment at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery.
