Scot Douglas Galloway

April 19, 1949 — February 2, 2015

On February 2, 2015 a sweet and gentle soul left us in the blink of an eye to return to his Father in Heaven and family beyond the veil. Scot was born April 19, 1949 to Paul and Emma Galloway.
He grew up in Bountiful, UT. It was a fun filled time as he and friends played in open fields and orchards. Scot had many friends and mentors in the old Val Verda 2nd Ward. Scot attended and graduated from Viewmont High School where he played the tuba in the band. Later while attending Weber State College he excitedly traveled with the band to the Calgary Stampede.
Scot married Cheryl Hurst (Divorced). Out of this short union came the light of Scot's life, his son Robert, whom he loved with all his heart. In 1983 he married Dawn (Dusty) Davis and had 25 wonderful years together before her passing.
Three years ago Scot met his angel when JoAnn Bawden came into his life. They married June 21, 2012. We all love JoAnn for what she brought back to Scot's life in caring, love, joy, happiness, and don't forget a granddaughter (the challenge of his life).  During this time he was able to spend more time, which he thoroughly enjoyed, with his son Robert.
Scot was small in stature, but a quiet giant in strength and faith as he dealt with what life handed him. He was strong and fought through many many medical issues with dignity, never asking why. Scot had just qualified and was added to the kidney transplant list in January.
Scot was blessed with a wonderful sister, Pauline who spent many many hours helping and loving Scot as he traveled life.
Scot is survived by his wife JoAnn, son Robert, sister Pauline (Bill) Preston, stepdaughter Christy (Zach) Draper, granddaughter Karlee, nieces and nephews, and the Davis Family. Scot is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce, and Dawn (Dusty).
Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT, 6:30 to 8:00 and 9:30 to 10:30 before the service at Bountiful 7th Ward. Funeral Services will follow on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Bountiful 7th Ward, 1250 South Main, Bountiful, UT. Interment in Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at Mountain America Credit Union under Scot's name.
