Scott Mathew Crosby

Scott Mathew Crosby boarded his nonstop flight to paradise at age 64 on March 30, 2019 in West Point, Utah.  Scott was born October 23, 1954 in Ogden, Utah.  His parents, Melvin and Carma Crosby, were thrilled to welcome him as their first child.  Although Scott endured many health challenges throughout his life, he faced them without fear and with a tenacious spirit.  He accomplished many things that others told him were impossible, with complete faith and courage.  He graduated with an associate degree in electronics engineering technology and worked for 31 years at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 2017.   Scott was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served a 2 year full-time mission in Roanoke, Virginia.  He served faithfully in the Bountiful 10th Ward as a primary worker and door greeter.  He also served for many years in the Bountiful, Utah LDS Temple cafeteria.  He loved his Savior Jesus Christ and emulated Christ-like love.  His childlike love attracted both young and old and his sense of humor would bring a smile or laughter.  Scott had a passion for telescopes and astronomy and was a long time member of the Salt Lake Astronomical Society.  He was an amazing history buff, specifically fascinated with World War II history.  He also loved putting together Legos (especially Star Wars), building motorized projects and flying radio-controlled airplanes.  He waited until Carma passed away to fulfill his life-long dream to take flying lessons in a Cessna 172 4-seater plane!  Scott loved his family which includes his brother Mark (Pati) Crosby, West Point, Utah, sister Sylvia Reynolds, West Valley, Utah, and foster sister Marie Etsitty (Herman) Page, Arizona.  He dearly loved his nieces and nephews and the children in his ward.  He will be greatly missed by all.  
A viewing  will be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Funeral services for Scott will be held at the Bountiful 10th Ward building, 1145 North 200 East Bountiful, Utah, Friday April 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Special thanks to all who cared for Scott throughout his life, but particularly the past 6 months.  We are grateful to the entire staff at the Family Tree Assisted Living Center in West Point, Utah for their exceptional care and love for Scotty.  Thanks also to Renew Home Health and  Comfort Worx Hospice Care for their kindness and diligent assistance in Scott's final days.
