Seth Johnson

Biography

Seth Mark (“Mark”) Johnson, 82, passed away on May 2, 2013, in Bountiful, Utah, where he lived the majority of his life. After practicing law in Davis County, he served many years as Bountiful City Judge, and then as a circuit court judge. On December 14, 1956, Mark was married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity to the love of his life, Barbara Ellen Rampton Johnson. He grew up as an avid outdoorsman, but also enjoyed history, reading and culinary arts. He was known for his strong convictions and intellect as well as his love, encouragement, and support of his family. He was a loving father to twins Dr. Harold Mark Johnson, of Kaysville, Utah, and Carol Lynne Johnson Mussman, of Modesto, California, and to younger daughter Patricia Ruth Johnson Kennington of Centerville, Utah. He is also survived by grandchildren Konrad Kennington, Karlee Dutson, Kaelin Kenworthy, Karson Kennington, Rebecca Johnson, Grant Johnson, Katherine Anderson, Laura Mussman and Elizabeth Mussman. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Perry Dutson, London Kennington, and Kamryn Kenworthy. Born on June 6, 1930, Mark was one of six sons and two daughters born to Thomas Smith Johnson and Agnes Elmira Wickman in Huntington, Utah. Mark grew up in Carbon County, Utah, before he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Colorado. He was stationed in Germany (where he learned the German language) when he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Utah. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where a viewing will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.
