Sharon Daphne Shanks

Sharon passed away on August 2, 2024, in South Jordan, Utah. She was born on May 11, 1959, in Harriman, Tennessee to Sheldon and Izella Norton Presnell. She has two brothers, David & Gary, one sister, Susan, and a son, Dan Nidy.  She was married to John Beverly for 25+ years and he passed away in 2018. She married William Shanks on December 7, 2019.

Sharon received her bachelor’s & master’s degrees from UCF and became a civil engineer and was very successful in her career.

She loved the arts, traveling, National Parks and history. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her primary children. 

She will be missed by so many. 

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.  Interment will be by her husband, John, at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Florida.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary Live Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
