Sharon Walker Thompson

October 17, 1937 — April 13, 2019

Sharon Walker Thompson passed peacefully through the veil while surrounded by her children and husband on Saturday, April 13, 2019 in her home in Bountiful Utah, at the age of 81. She was welcomed into the spirit world by her parents George Leroy Walker and Ellen Elizabeth Hess, seven of her older siblings, and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years Clyde Keith Thompson; her sister Mary Kirkbride; her five children Leslie (Dean) Winslow, Shellene (Mark) Clark, Michael (Michelle) Thompson, Traci Thompson, Nicole (Mark) Parker; her 14 grandchildren; and soon to be nine great-grandchildren.

Sharon was born on October 17, 1937 in her parents’ home on their farm in Clifton, Idaho, as the youngest of 9. She grew into a hardworking, beautiful, and spunky young woman who was sealed for time and all eternity to the love of her life on March 14, 1958 in the Logan, Utah Temple. Sharon was a strong, loving, woman with a passion for life and her family. She was always known for her immaculate yard and lush flowerbeds which she tenderly cared for. She was a passionate sports fan with a special love for BYU. She was a stylish woman with a flair for being a fabulous hostess. Sharon’s opinion always held tremendous weight with those who knew her because of her honesty and attention to even the most minute details. She was skilled at crochet and put love into each item she made.

Sharon was devoted to her family and strived to make each holiday, birthday, and every Sunday a special bonding experience that would bring the family closer together. Sharon was a compassionate woman who instinctively knew the right things to say and was often found stepping in to serve those around her. She had the special gift of seeing a need and filling it, without ever seeking recognition or notice. She could always tell when someone needed encouragement and love and gave both freely. She loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and had an unshakable testimony in His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a firm knowledge of the plan of salvation and is patiently waiting to be reunited with all of us once again.

There will be a viewing Friday, April 19, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm at Russon Mortuary; 295 N Main St, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at the LDS Church at 115 E Wicker Lane, Bountiful, UT with a viewing preceding it from 9:30 to 10:30.
