Sheila Mae George Huntington

December 31, 1935 — January 19, 2018

Sheila Mae George Huntington, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed from this life peacefully into the next on January 19, 2018. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 24, 1935 to Allen R. George and Verona Jones George. She attended West High School where she met her sweetheart, Robert Earl Huntington and they were married May 14, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with seven children, 33 grandchildren, and 54 great grandchildren (5 more are expected this year).  She never missed a birthday! Sheila loved music, the theater, camping, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a beautiful writer and many of her poems and stories were published. She served as the President of the League of Utah Writers and Utah State Poetry Society. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved her serving in many callings, including Stake Primary President, Relief Society Teacher and Counselor, and Humanitarian Leader. Some of her most cherished moments were spent serving with her husband in the Bountiful Temple and their mission together in the Birmingham, Alabama Mission. Sheila will be greatly missed by her large family and numerous loving friends.

She is survived by her children; Laurie (Lance) Ridges, Jill (Randy) Tolman, Kerry (Marilyn) Huntington, Michael (Sallie) Huntington, Mark (LuAnne) Huntington, Lisa (Russell) Robinson, and Brooke (Paul) Bruderer.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Porter Lane church located at 436 West 400 South, Centerville. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and Friday morning 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
