Shirlee Pierson Johnson

Shirlee Pierson Johnson, 70, of Bountiful, Utah, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, December 19, 2016 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her loving husband of nearly 50 years, along with many family members who loved and adored her, were by her side.  She was met with open arms by her mother, Virl Pierson, her father, N. Wayne Pierson, her mother-in-law, Helen Johnson, her father-in-law, Lyle Johnson, a granddaughter, aunts and uncles, in laws, her best friend, and many others who love her. She was born on February 16, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Highland High School in Salt Lake City, and was a licensed cosmetologist where she operated her own beauty shop for nearly forty years.  She married Robert Lyle Johnson in the Salt Lake Temple on December 14, 1967, and together they had five children, Matthew (Suzanne) Johnson, Richard (DeeDra) Johnson, Bradley (Fran) Johnson, Jolene (Bill) Snyder, and Nathan (Sunny) Johnson. Shirlee is survived by her Husband, Robert, brother, Weldon "Bud" (Judy) Pierson, her Sister, Carolyn (George) Burbidge, her children, 13 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.  Her family members were the love of her life.  She was the greatest mother and grandmother a person could ever hope for, and she was loved and adored by her family, friends, associates, and all who knew her.  She was an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed serving in many capacities, including various primary and relief society callings.

Shirlee was a kind-hearted, sweet, and loving mother.  She adored her husband and children and often bragged about how lucky she was to have them. Her husband was, without question, the love of her life. Shirlee loved her family, and did all that she could to help make the world a better place. She will be greatly missed. We love you mom, and will forever be grateful for all you taught us to be.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Russon Brother's Mortuary located at 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Bountiful East Stake Center, 600 E. 2150 S. in Bountiful. Funeral to commence at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
