Shirley Rose Hogan Hatch

Shirley Rose Hogan Hatch, 10/3/1930 – 12/5/2023, age 93, passed away at her home at Creekside Care Center in Bountiful, Utah. She died peacefully while surrounded by her beloved family. 

Shirley was born October 3, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lawrence Hogan and Lillian Mae Peterson. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School in 1948. She married F. Jay Hatch April 10, 1952, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Shirley loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many callings in the Bountiful 11th Ward. Shirley especially loved serving with Jay for nine years in the Salt Lake Temple, as service missionaries at the Humanitarian Center and as ward missionaries. Shirley raised a wonderful family, loved to travel, and found comfort in helping others.

Shirley was preceded in death by her sweet husband Jay in March 2005 and by her cherished daughter Lisa in January 2023. Shirley is survived by her children David (Deb) Hatch, Darrell (Shelly) Hatch, Douglas (Trish) Hatch, Jeff Christensen (Lisa’s husband) and Dale Hogan, her brother, 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Bountiful 11th Ward Chapel, 115 Wicker Lane, Bountiful, Utah. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street in Bountiful, and on Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, please share your love with family and friends. Our family appreciates and thanks the staff at Creekside Care Center and the many loving friends Shirley made while living there. Their support, love and daily mealtime conversations made her life brighter and it was the perfect place for her to enjoy her final years.
