Stanley George Wilcox

Stanley George Wilcox, beloved husband, son, friend and father, passed away quietly, Tuesday, June 5, 2018.  He was born May 14, 1980 to Charyol Guynn and Keith Earl Wilcox in Ogden, Utah.

Stan was a great man with a gentle and valiant heart. He was a fierce friend to all and inspired many with his kindness and infectious laugh. At a young age he taught himself to cook, and his food was unbelievably delicious. If you had a chance to taste something he had “Stan-ified” then you were lucky. His candy and caramel making was rivaled only by his Grandma Deane, who taught him everything she knew. He had a special relationship with his Grandma and always said her home was a safe-haven.  

Stan had a deep love of his Savior and a strong testimony of the Atonement. He strived to emulate the Savior in all that he did. Stan served an LDS mission in Bilbao, Spain. He loved the people there and was always smiling. He introduced many there to his apple pie, and they loved him dearly.

He had a beautiful singing voice, and had a great love for music and the theater. He met the love of his life, Juliana, while performing in the Weber State Institute Show Choir, the Choralaires. She was his angel, his queen, and he loved her with all he had. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 2001.

They had three beautiful boys together. Alexander Eugene, Lucas Ryan, and Zachary Martin. Stan dearly loved his boys and cherished spending time with them. You could always find him singing silly (annoying) songs with them somewhere in the house. His family was his world. He loved his boys beyond measure, and everything he did was for them.

Stan was a genius businessman, and as he rose through the ranks at Fidelity to become a team manager at work, he would teach, encourage, and motivate his team to learn and excel personally and occupationally. He gave personal and heartfelt attention to all he worked with. His only motivation was a deep desire for them to succeed. He loved the people he worked with. Stan achieved the title of CFP (Certified Financial Planner) by passing a rigorous exam, thus receiving an honor and degree of recognition not all in his field are able to attain.

Stan was playfully competitive and loved to play games with his family and friends and was a joy to be around. He was the best kind of friend. He believed in the “one”. Whomever he was speaking with was his priority at that moment. He was a gifted listener, and looked for opportunities to lift others. His life was too short, and he will be greatly missed.

Stan is survived by his wife Juliana and three sons:  Alexander (11), Luke (9), and Zachary (6); both parents, as well as three sisters and one brother:  Shana Wilcox Fannin (Scott), Jill Wilcox Hyer (Dave), Joan Wilcox Shoell (Edd), Brian Keith Wilcox, and parents-in-law James and Rebecca Russon.  Preceded in death by grandparents Doc and Deane Wilcox and Stanley and Nora Guynn.  

A viewing will be held Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main, Bountiful, Utah.  Funeral services will take place at the Lake View Ward Building, 455 South 1200 East, Bountiful, Utah, on Monday June 11 at 11 am with a viewing preceding from 9:45 to 10:45 am.  Interment at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.   

The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the outpouring of love and support they have received in this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any America First Credit Union to the Wilcox Educational Memorial Fund for Alex, Luke and Zach’s college education.
