Stanley Tingey Randall

Our beloved father Stanley Tingey Randall passed away peacefully on June 24, 2021 in Bountiful Utah.  He was welcomed back home by his sweetheart Dorothy.
Stanley was born November 27, 1931 in the family home, Centerville Utah, to Alfred and Ada Randall.  He was the youngest of 8 children, 7 boys and 1 girl.  He graduated from Davis High, Class of ‘51, and lived in Centerville the majority of his life.  He was drafted into the Marines after graduation and served at Camp Pendleton.  He met Dorothy Porter on a blind date and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 8, 1960.
He distributed gasoline for his brother at Tom Randall Distributing until he retired.  He then worked at the Utah Auto Auction until he found his second career of mowing lawns at Lakeside & Bountiful Ridge golf courses and made many wonderful friends (then played 9 or 18 holes with them after work).  He was always doing side jobs here and there to keep his family fed. He was no stranger to hard work. Dad enjoyed gardening in his spare time and sharing the fruits of his labor with neighbors and friends.

He attended Utah State University and would spend his spare time at brother Kay’s roller rink putting on shows. This would include him jumping over barrels and over people to the audiences delight.

Dad enjoyed many activities in his life.  You could find him often riding 4 wheelers, skiing, hunting, fishing, or on camping trips with his family.

On March 11, 1983 Stan was involved in a gasoline explosion where he received 2nd & 3rd degree burns over 50% of his body.  During the weeks of being in the hospital he would serve other patients by visiting with them. He also enjoyed dancing with the nurses in the hallways to lighten their burden.  At this same time the family was so tenderly blessed by service from their ward members, neighbors, family & friends and Stan knew that his family was being taken care of. He could then focus on getting himself well and be able to return home to his family.  This experience brought Dorothy and Stan very close together as she cared so lovingly for him when he came home. Because of this accident Stan had some serious health issues which he handled with grace and determination.

Dad was always looking for opportunities to serve others. He served a full time mission in the Great Lakes Mission.  He was an ordinance worker for many years at the Bountiful Temple in which he was honorably released in March 2021.  He loved being a part of The Sons of the Utah Pioneer’s and enjoyed traveling to Church history sights with them.  He served in various church callings throughout his life.

Dad had a strong testimony of the Gospel and tried to live his life as the Savior did.

Survived by his children: Cindy (Duane), Connie (Jay), Corey (Loriel), Chris (Julie), Curtis (Erin), Cheryl (Dan), & Craig (Anne); brother Ron; 31 grandkids, 22 great-grandkids

Preceded in death by his sweetheart Dorothy, his parents, sister, 5 brothers and 1 great grandson

A viewing will be held in his honor on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 6 – 8 pm at Russon Mortuary 295 N Main Street, Bountiful and one hour prior to service on Thursday from 9:45 – 10:45 am at the LDS Chapel on 436 W 400 S (Porter Lane), Centerville.  Funeral Services will follow at 11 am. The family would like to thank Legacy House of Bountiful and Bristol Hospice, especially Julianne for her amazing tender care she gave our dad over the last few months as well as many others.
