Stephen Allen

September 23, 1948 — February 13, 2011

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend Stephen Carl Allen passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011 from complications of esophageal cancer after a courageous two year battle. Stephen was born on September 23, 1948 to John and Norma (Bone) Allen in Ogden, Utah. He was happily married for 37 years to Susie (Rutherford). A lover of the outdoors, Stephen enjoyed fly fishing, camping, and trips to Mirror Lake. He earned two degrees from Weber State University and shared his expansive knowledge of computer science with thousands of students at the Davis Applied Technology College (DATC) in Kaysville, Utah for nearly 30 years. Stephen served his country proudly in Vietnam and Germany for the United States Army. His greatest pride and joy was his family including his two sons, daughter and niece. Stephen is survived by his wife; children Dustin, Heather (Rich) and John (Lindsay); niece Ashley (David); and siblings, Jack (MaryAnn), Margaret, Lesley (Chris), and Ken (Cindy). His grandchildren Tyler, Ainsley, Lucas, Kenzie and Madden were loved by their doting grandfather. Preceded in death are his parents. Stephens witty sense of humor and analysis of life will be sorely missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17th at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street in Farmington, Utah. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., February 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 900 South Main Street in Kaysville, Utah, with a viewing at 9:45 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
