Stephen Hoth

August 26, 1943 — December 16, 2013

Biography

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on December 16, 2013 quietly after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully passed from this world to the next. Steve’s greatest loves in life were the gospel of Jesus Christ and spending time with his family. He bore his testimony of Jesus Christ by the way that he lived and expressed his love to others every day. He loved and appreciated every moment with his sweet wife, attended almost every soccer game of his sons, enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends, loved to play with his grandchildren and spoil his daughters.
Steve was born on August 26, 1943 to Ariel Leo and Thelma Hind Hoth. He served an LDS mission in the Southwest British Mission, graduated with a degree in advertising from Utah State University, and served in Vietnam for the US Army.
As a devoted member of the Church he served in many stake and ward callings with his favorite being bishop. He also loved serving in the temple. He married Vicki Crook in the Logan Utah Temple on September 20, 1974. He worked over 40 years with H&R Block and ended his professional career side by side with his wife at Handi Quilter.
Steve and Vicki were blessed with two daughters and three sons: Shannon (Eric) Page, Tiffany (David) Price, Scott (Melanie) Hoth, Shawn Hoth, and Trevor (Ashley) Hoth.
Survived by his wife Vicki and their five children, 12 grandchildren, two brothers and sister; Robert (Diana) Hoth, David Hoth, Joyce (Mike) McGrath. Preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to express deep appreciation for the tenderness and thoughtfulness of many doctors and nurses throughout Steve’s fight with cancer. Also, a special thanks to friends and neighbors. Steve’s “Pollyanna” optimism, wonderful fun loving humor and passion for living life to the fullest will be missed by all family and friends. His great legacy of faith and love will live on through his wife and “good kids.”
