Stephen H Jackson, loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2013, after suffering complications from pneumonia. His was a legacy of service and love to his family, neighbors, students, congregation, and nation. Steve was born in Bountiful, UT, on May 11, 1943 to Marvin and Edna Jackson. As the only boy in the family, he grew up working on the farm, enjoying basketball, baseball, and softball. He served an LDS mission to the Northeast British Mission. Stephen graduated from U of U with a Bachelor of Science and from USU with a Masters in Public Administration and served in the US Army Reserves for 6 years. He loved helping others as he served in various church positions including bishop as well as assisting people toward their goals as an Extension Agent for USU Cooperative Extension Service. 4-H and horticulture were activities in which he actively participated and enjoyed gardening throughout his life. Steve is survived by his supportive wife of 6 ½ years, Evelyn Rasmussen Jackson, to whom he was sealed in the Bountiful Temple. Together Steve and Evie loved spending time with their combined families, serving as temple workers in the Bountiful Temple, and fulfilling their life-long dream of being full-time missionaries serving in the Nauvoo Temple Mission. Stephen married his first wife and sweetheart of 35 years, Marsha Hunt Jackson, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they were blessed with four children while Marsha exuded endless support as Stephen struggled through cancer and other serious medical issues. Marsha’s life was tragically cut short after courageously battling cancer herself. Steve is survived by his wife, Evelyn; four children/spouses, Travis/Jennifer, Dustin/Melanie, Merrick/Carrie, Emily/Josh; step-children Greg/Jen, Jenny/Sean, Mindy/Steve, Ben/Danielle, Lydia/Mike, Clayton/Emily, 33 combined grandchildren; his mother, Edna; and siblings Maurine, Deon, and Tamara.
