Stephen Kirtley Justensen, age 25, returned to his Father in Heaven on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at his home in Salt Lake City surrounded by his family.
Stephen was born November 7, 1991, to Brad and Carolyn Justensen. He grew up in Layton, Utah with his five sisters, Nicole, Amy, Christina, Jenilyn, and Emily. He loved having his grandparents next door and had many fond memories with his grandpa, Rulon. He had a love for singing, computers, and swimming. While in high school he was a member of the Layton High swim team.
Stephen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served an LDS mission in the Lubbock Texas mission, speaking Spanish. He loved serving and teaching the people and it was on his mission his love for the gospel grew.
On July 2, 2013, he married his high school sweetheart, Laura King. They were blessed with two wonderful boys, Rulon and James. Stephen kept busy working at the LDS Printing Division and attending the University of Utah, where he studied Computer Engineering. He was extremely intelligent and learned very quickly. He loved spending his free time with his wife and boys.
Stephen is survived by his wife Laura, two sons Rulon and James, parents Brad and Carolyn, sisters Nicole (Abe), Amy (LaMar), Christina (Shane), Jenilyn (Christian), and Emily (Trevor), his grandparents Marianne Call, Larry and Dorothy Justensen, and also many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his grandpa, Rulon Call, and other family members.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11:00am at the Layton Utah South Stake Center (505 South 1000 West). A Viewing will be held at the Russon Mortuary (1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah) on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 6:00-8:00pm and prior to the service at the church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30am. Interment will be at the Kaysville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate at any America First Credit Union to the Laura Justensen Charitable Fund.
