Stephen Searle

October 29, 1940 — April 26, 2011

Stephen Richard Searle, 70, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2011. Steve was born October 29, 1940 in Delta, Utah, to Archie and Wilma Searle. He married his sweetheart Linda Lue Talbot on June 16, 1960 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Steve worked for Union Pacific for over 43 years. He loved his job and those he worked with. As a superintendent for the railroad, he had an opportunity to work and live in several different states. He was highly respected by those with whom he came in contact with, because he was always honest and ethical in all that he did. His greatest love of life came from spending time with his wonderful and eternal companion, Linda. Never a day went by when he did not find a way to serve her. He loved his children and grandchildren and looked for opportunities to spend time with them. A memorable family reunion took place last summer when all of his family was able to spend an entire week together in Vail, Colorado. A dedicated and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served willingly. He loved the Lord and showed that love by serving others. Whether it was going on a walk with a neighbor, making a phone call to cheer up someone, or simply smiling and saying hi to a stranger, Steve loved his fellowman. He is survived by his wife, Linda; children: Clay (Shelly) of Roy, Ut; Russell (Cheryl) of Colleyville, TX; Blair (Jodi) of Kaysville, UT; and Heather (David) of Eagle Mountian, Ut; 14 grandchildren: Ashley, Justin, Cason, Dallin, Ryan, Mikayla, Tyler, Collin, Jaden, Nate, Caden, Piper, Landon, and Brody; sisters: Colone (Stan); Connie (Dan); and Chanel (Jeff). Preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Kenny. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Bountiful Stonecreek Stake Center, 1000 North 100 West. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m at the church prior to services.
