Steven Anthony Lockwood was born March 24, 1980 to Michael Slotboom Lockwood and Cheri Bergesen Lockwood. Steven was the fourth of six children and the youngest of the boys. He passed away quietly on Saturday morning May 1, 2021 at the home of his parents after a year long battle with cancer. He was 41.
Steven attended South Kearns Elementary, Kearns Jr. High and T.H. Bell Jr. High. He graduated from Bonneville High School in Washington Terrace. Steven attended Weber State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Microbiology.
Steven was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in the Columbus Ohio Mission. As a Cub Scout he received its highest honor The Arrow of Light and as a Boy Scout he received the highest honor that of Eagle Scout.
Steven loved working on and rebuilding cars and enjoyed various sports. As a youth he played soccer for the Westwind Soccer Club. He continued playing soccer throughout his life and frequently started pickup games at family events. He would support his nieces and nephews at their soccer games, even traveling to watch two of his nieces play in Costa Rica. Steven also enjoyed football and on Thanksgiving morning you could find him playing flag football with friends and family. Steven and his dad enjoyed traveling to watch Ohio State football games, most recently watching the Buckeyes play in the Rose Bowl. He was also a fan of the Utah Utes, Kansas Jayhawks and San Fransisco 49ers, Boston Red Socks and Salt Lake Bees. He would take his mother to a Bee’s game for mother’s day because she is a huge fan and often had a pizza night to watch games at his parents.
Steven worked for Intermountain Health Care at the Central Lab as a Medical Technologist and as a Coordinator for the night shift. It was there he met the love of his life Christine Lee.
Steven is survived by his parents Michael and Cheri Lockwood, brothers David S. (Kellie) Lockwood, Joshua M. (Jessica) Lockwood, Christopher R. (Leah) Lockwood, sisters Brittany R. (Russell) Nelsen, Stephanie M. (Jon) Turner, the love of his life Christine Lee, fifteen nieces and nephews (many of whom considered him their favorite uncle), aunts, uncles and cousins and grandparents Randy and Sandy Bergesen.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard E. and LaJune S. Vincent and Adrian S. and Carol B. Lockwood.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 8, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Clinton Stake Center 1288 West 1300 North, Clinton Utah. There will be a viewing Friday May 7, 2021 from 6-8 P.M. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary 1585 West 300 South in Syracuse. A viewing will also be held at the church on Saturday from 9:45-10:45.
Interment will be at Wasatch Lawns Memorial Park 3401 South Highland Drive.
