Steven Kartchner

Biography

A curious and creative soul came to earth August 27, 1962, born to Jene O. and Alberta Evans Kartchner. His earthly life ended at St. Mark’s Hospital on January 16, 2015 with his family standing around him. Steven was a happy child with enthusiasm for the world around him. He grew up in North Salt Lake with his older brother Jerry and his younger sister Carla. He was very talented in making and creating things. He spent lots of time taking things apart just to see how to put it back together. He was a HAM radio operator, enjoyed electronics and was an excellent swimmer on the Woods Cross High School swim team. He served an LDS mission to Canada. He became a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and was past Master of Progress Lodge #22. He married Carol Larsen and they became the parents of two wonderful children, Amanda and Luke, later divorced. He worked his whole career for Comtek designing many electrical components including working on a hearing-aid device used in LDS ward houses. He is predeceased by his mother and his ex-wife. He is survived by his children, his father, brother and sister and lots of extended family. He will be missed. Funeral services will be Friday, January 23, 2015 at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 11:00 am located at 295 N. Main Bountiful, UT. A viewing will be held Thursday evening at Russon Brothers from 6-8 pm and one Friday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 am prior to the funeral.
