Steven Kimball Olson

Steven Kimball Olson, beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away at home on August 8, 2019 at age 34.  

Steve was born on July 12, 1985 in Rockford, Illinois to Howard and JoAnn (Briggs) Olson. He moved to Bountiful, Utah with his family in 1991 and lived there the rest of his life.  

Steve had many interests including music, golf, basketball, soccer, and video games. He was known for his love of animals and owned several pets, including reptiles, fish, dogs, a cat, a ferret, a fox and parrots. Of all his animals, the African Grey Parrot was perhaps the most memorable in that it could mimic Steve’s voice and was often heard calling for “Mom”.

Steve was loyal and had a big heart. He was engaging to be with and had a quick wit. He was greatly loved by his friends and family.  He particularly loved his nieces and nephews and looked forward to spending time with them.  They loved spending time with him as well.

At his best, Steve was generous and thoughtful.  He found ways to be complimentary.  He found ways to be uplifting.  He was quick to smile and share with others.  He was a good listener.

Steve will be greatly missed by the people who knew him best.  The people who always believed that he had the strength to overcome obstacles and consistently be the person they knew he was.  

Those who love Steve most believe in his eternal potential.  That his talents and gifts can and will be used for the benefit of all those who come into contact with him.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Howard, and survived by his mother, JoAnn, his brother David (Sarah), and his sisters Cheri (Stephen), Kara (Josh), and Kimberly (Brian) and many nieces and nephews, Courtni, Brigham, Cole, Brooke, Ellie, Hunter, Andrew, Kate, Jake, Dane, Jade, William, and Poppy.   

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Moss Hill Ward , 455 South 1200 East, Bountiful, UT., where a viewing will be held from 12:45-1:30 p.m. prior to services.  Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at  https://sites.google.com/view/steven-k-olson-memorial/home
