Steven Kurt Putnam passed away October 29, 2024. He was born September 12, 1949, in Oakland, CA, to Wayne L. and Jane S. Putnam.
Steve served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Columbus, OH.
He has been married to his loving wife Debbie for 50 years.
Steve proudly served on the Salt Lake Fire Department for 30+ years as an EMT, Haz Mat and Engineer. After retiring from the Fire Department, he worked for the Department of Homeland Security for several more years.
Steve loved hunting, drag racing, motorcycles and a well-manicured lawn.
He is survived by his wife, daughter Corrine, brother Curtis (Sandra), sister Carolyn (Larry), sister Cheryl and many good friends who will feel his loss greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Clyde and brother-in-law Garry.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2024, at Centerville City Cemetery, 650 East 400 South, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will take place prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to Tunnel to Tower Foundation (T2T.org) that benefits first responders, military and their families.
Love and gratitude to our family and friends who stood by us in our darkest moments. Thanks also to the wonderful caregivers who looked after Steve in his final week.
