Steven Lee Warren, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 25th at 11:00 am Located at Russon’s Mortuary, 1585 West 300 South in Syracuse Utah. There will be a viewing held the evening of the 24th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the same location, as well as at 9:00 am on the 25th prior to services.
Steve was born October 13, 1948, to Dean and Deon Warren in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in the Canyon Rim area with brothers Larry, Doug, Val, and younger sister Sue. It is here that he formed special friendships that he maintained all his life. The family later moved to Cottonwood Heights. The boys and their father enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips together. Family rituals were important, like Payson Days each summer and Easter camping trips to Utah Lake. When his parents finally settled in Bennion. It was important for them to add on a large family room to the side of the house, to accommodate the growing family for holiday events and Sunday dinners. This is where the family ties were kept, and many happy memories were made.
Steve was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in New York. He attended Salt Lake Community Technical College and graduated with a degree in refrigeration. Steve married Catherine Seaich, and together they raised four children in West Jordan, Utah. They were later divorced, and Steve met and married Dianne Thoman. Steve and Dianne loved to travel together. They took many road trips and especially enjoyed visiting Southern Utah. Escalante and Calf Creek were among their favorite destinations. They celebrated their expanding families and welcomed twenty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They spent many years in Kaysville and later settled in Clearfield. Always residing among a community of beloved neighbors and friends.
Steve worked for many years as an appliance repairman. He worked for several companies, but in the end was very proud to have his own business, Eagle Appliance Repair. He was often known to fix things free of charge, giving a break to those in need. Steve was often spotted throughout the day in his “Eagle Mobile” going from call to call. Often accompanied by his best “Buddy” confusing passersby as the little mut appeared to be driving the vehicle himself.
Steve loved the outdoors. The activities that he had loved doing as he was growing up, he continued to do with his own family. He liked cowboy shows, country and folk music (especially Gordon Lightfoot), and small-town ways. He loved children and never showed up to visit his grandkids without bringing a treat and a prize. Grandchildren fondly remember the opportunity to visit Grandpa’s “Shed” which was always stocked with goodies to share as well.
Steve is survived by his wife Dianne of 28 years, sons Jonathan (Mendy) Warren, Benjamin (Amy) Warren, Jacob Warren, and daughter Anna (Tran) Lien. Stepchildren Bonnie (Gary) Garner, Brian Thoman, Brittany (Mike) Rigby, and Bryson Thoman. As well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, and brother Larry.
We express our gratitude to the nurses and staff of Rocky Mountain Care Center of Clearfield, who have cared for Steve for almost two years. In July of 2023, he suffered a debilitating stroke, which left him paralyzed and unable to care for himself. Though heartbroken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing he is finally free from his earthly suffering and walking once again with loved ones in heaven
