Our great and noble wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher passed away peacefully on Sunday February 24, 2013, after a 9-month struggle with a very aggressive brain tumor. Susan Adell Keddington Larsen was born to the late Hulbert and Marjorie (Guiver) Keddington on August 13, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in the Avenues and Capitol Hill neighborhoods, graduating from West High School in 1961. Susan graduated from Brigham Young University in Home Development and Family Living with a certificate in Elementary
Education in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert J. Larsen, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 19, 1965. They were happily married for 47 years. Susan was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and filled her life with Christ-like service. She served selflessly in the Presidencies of every womens organization at the Ward and Stake level. Susan also served 2 LDS missions with her husband, first, to the New York, Utica, Military Relations mission and second, to the Nauvoo Historical Sites mission, where she fell ill. Susan served for 2 years in the Bountiful Temple as an ordinance worker. She had a gift and passion for teaching little children and was a brilliant pre-school teacher for 37 years.
She loved teaching and influenced the lives of hundreds of children. Her greatest joy was raising her 9 children and being very involved in the lives of her many beloved grandchildren. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and wife. She loved chocolate, craft boutiques, shopping, finding a bargain, reading, and spoiling her grandchildren. She made every holiday and birthday a big event. Parties were her specialty.
She is survived by her husband Robert, who lovingly and patiently cared for her every need throughout her illness; her children: Bob (Molly) Larsen, Jennifer (Michael) Brooks, Matthew (Melissa) Larsen, Michael (Sherrelyn) Larsen, Scott (Jennifer) Larsen, Marilee (Mitchell) Brooks, Mark (Melanie) Larsen, Brian (Brooke)Larsen, Melissa (Chad) Glover and her 29 and a half grandchildren. Her siblings: Anna, Joe, Ray and David.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Cohen and the many others that cared for her at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. She and her ever-ready smile will be truly missed and happily remembered.
