Susan Marie Trickel Trujillo

February 12, 1959 — September 27, 2024

Woods Cross, UT

Susan Marie Trujillo (Trickel) passed away at her home in Woods Cross, Utah, on September 27, 2024, with her dog Bella by her side. Susan was born on February 12, 1959, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to her loving parents, Earl and Betty Trickel. Growing up in Storm Lake, the Trickel clan split their time between Storm Lake during the school year and the family lake cabin near Pillsbury Point, Lake Okoboji, Iowa, all summer. Susan enjoyed boating, skiing, tubing, swimming at the State Park beaches, and numerous fun activities at the Arnold Park Amusement Park, a short walk a few blocks from their cabin.

Susan brought into the world a beautiful daughter, Ann, in 1977 and made the difficult but loving decision to place her for adoption to a loving family.

Susan married Alan Moser in 1978, and they were married for 13 years. Together, they welcomed three beautiful children into the world: Justin, Shawna, and Andrea.

In 1997, Susan got remarried to David Trujillo of Rancho Cucamonga, California. Susan and David enjoyed many years of camping and river trips with their children and family friends. Her favorite thing to do was pack up the trailer and explore new places. Sue was very content to read a book and sit by David while he fished. David passed in 2010 with her by his side.

In 2017, Susan moved to Woods Cross, Utah, and lived down the street from her daughter Shawna, son-in-law Mikey, and grandchildren Kaitlin and Logan. She was proud to have a place of her own and loved decorating it with all her favorite things. Sue enjoyed Sunday dinners with them, drinking wine and chatting about the week’s activities at the table. She most looked forward to the yearly family tradition of having her children and grandchildren together to enjoy laughter, silly pictures, and eating everyone’s favorite dishes at Thanksgiving. Susan talked to her mom, Betty, for hours at a time, and after her passing, she developed a rekindled love of talking with her dad, Earl. Susan loved to play Yahtzee and had an uncanny ability to have the highest Yahtzee score when she played, then humbly took her winnings with pride and a smile. Susan lived her life with quiet independence and warmth that was felt by anyone who met her.

Susan is survived by her first husband, Alan (Christine) Moser; son, Justin (Felicia) Moser; daughters Shawna (Mikey) Harris, Andrea Moser, and Ann Wendel; eight grandchildren Logan and Kaitlin Harris, Tristan and Austin Moser, Megan and Matthew Christian, and Michelle and Michael Christian; and her father Earl Trickel along with her four siblings Bruce (Beth) Trickel, John (Donna) Trickel, Jim Trickel, and Mary (Chad) Nixon and many nieces and nephews of her siblings.

Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Trickel, and her second husband, David Trujillo.

She will be missed dearly by so many.
