Suzanne Lois Price Minor left her mortal body on May 31st, 2016 to return to her heavenly home and to reunite with her parents, her daughter Elizabeth Ann, and her older brothers Howard, Stephen, Michael, and Charles. Suzanne was born to Howard and Lois Price on January 7th, 1944 in Hawthorne, California. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was married in her parents’ home in Kaysville, UT to her husband, John Lynn Minor and their wedding vows were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and served him diligently throughout her life.
Suzanne was a very unique and highly intelligent individual with many special talents. She was a great example of a disciple of Jesus to all her family, friends, and acquaintances. Throughout her life she served her family and friends tirelessly. Suzanne especially loved gardening, animals (especially her many dogs), travel, and reading. She had a lifelong love of learning, science, and pondering the mysteries of the earth and the universe. Had Suzanne gone on to college she could have easily been an astrophysicist. She often kept her engineer husband awake late at night with questions about light, the solar system, the universe, quantum mechanics, mathematics, gravity, and physics. Suzanne also loved many things that you might not expect such as gypsies and gypsy lore and watching American Ninja Warrior on TV. She loved learning about ancient Egypt and pondering what Abraham taught the Egyptians.
Suzanne accepted and loved all people unconditionally. It didn’t matter to her what their religion, nationality, or station in life was; she only cared about what was in their heart. When new husbands or wives married into the family, they became Suzanne’s family just as much as if they were related by blood. There were no “in-laws” or “step-children” in Suzanne’s world, only loved family members. She fiercely defended her family and friends and she would not tolerate any injustices done to them. Truly, her family was her greatest joy in life.
Suzanne was the party planner and organizer for her family. She designed and held many extravagant theme parties with games and presents designed for everyone, but especially for the children. Themes included Pirate Parties, Cowboy Parties, and Halloween Parties. She also had a great love for Disneyland and passed that love on to her children and grandchildren.
Suzanne was also an accomplished author. She wrote two young adult fiction books: “Grandpa Was a Mummy” and “The Gypsy Wagon in the Woods”. Because she loved little children and served many, many years in Primary, Suzanne authored many children’s poems to teach the primary children eternal principles.
Suzanne is survived by her husband John, her 3 children Philip Blake (Diane), Pamela Zajac (Robert), and Mark Blake (Vickie), her 10 grandchildren, Alexandria Larsen (Trevor) , Allison Johnson (Greg), Steven Blake, Alisa Blake, Scotty Blake, Jackie Bateman (James), Jessica Wheeler (Lee), Salvatore Zajac, Michael Zajac, Elizabeth Zajac, and her 9 great grandchildren, Ezra Bateman, Eli Bateman, Abraham Bateman, Isaac Bateman, Ezekiel Bateman, Phineas Bateman, Margo Shaw, Adelaide Shaw, and Henry Shaw. Her first daughter, Elizabeth Ann, died shortly after birth. Her surviving siblings are Colleen Root, Sherrie Christensen (Chris), Mary-Jo Hall (Phillip), Terrance Price (Carol), Lynn Henry (Barney), and David Price (Helene).
Funeral services will be held at the Russon Brothers Mortuary Chapel, 1941 N. Main Street, Farmington, Utah on Saturday, June 4th, 2016. The viewing will be held from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm and the services will begin at 1:00 pm. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Kaysville Cemetery.
