Tammy Sue Young

Tammy Sue Young, 53, passed away unexpectedly from complications due to a car accident (occurred May 2) on May 3, 2018.  She was born to James Young (deceased) and Sharon Young at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 18, 1965, the oldest of two children.  Her younger brother is Troy Young, and they were close.  She attended Adelaide Elementary, South Davis Jr. High, and earned her GED through Salt Lake Community High School. 

She married William Davis on October 6, 1990 in Elko, Nevada. (Later divorced)  She was a devoted, hard-working single mom to three children: Jason, Carrie, and Cassie (Mykey). Her family meant everything to her and she loved spending time with them any chance she had.  She was proud to be called Nana by her seven grandchildren: Tyson, Savannah, Alexis, Gabriella, Cody, Hayden, and Trinity.  She loved spoiling and baby-sitting her grandkids often.  They gave her so much joy in life and they made many memories that will be cherished forever. 

Tammy attended Christian Life Center and had many good friends there. She had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that kept her strong, and brought much happiness to her life. 

Growing up she had many adventures and family vacations.  Some of her favorite childhood memories were: snowmobiling, hang gliding, and water skiing on their boat.  They would go boating almost every weekend in the warmer months, and loved fishing and camping together.

She loved going roller skating and playing outside with her friends until dark.  Another fun memory is doing karaoke nights with friends; she always knew how to have fun and was the life of the party.  She could make anybody laugh with her contagious personality.

Tammy loved going yard selling or thrift shopping with her mom and loved getting a good deal on things.  She also loved making plans with her family to go out to dinner and have good conversation, or going to one of her kids’ houses to visit.  Her kids meant everything to her and she showed her love to them each day.  Her favorite holiday was, by far, Christmas.  She loved driving around looking at the holiday lights, baking cookies with her kids and grandkids, decorating her house, and watching Christmas movies.  She loved celebrating special occasions with her family, and always made others feel special.

Tammy had a heart of gold, and always put others’ needs before her own, even with her own struggles with her health problems.  She was a very strong woman and didn’t let little things get to her.  She lived life to the fullest and was giving and kind, and would talk to anybody she came in contact with.  You could call her a social butterfly.  She was incredibly friendly and had a smile that would light up the whole room.  She didn’t like to stay home much, so she was often on the go with a busy agenda planned.  She would take her beloved dog, Gracie, just about everywhere she went, and loved her company.  They were inseparable.  She also had a big love for Disney and had quite the collection.  She was fortunate enough to go to Disneyland three times, and said they were the best vacations of her life.

She will be very missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and of course, her family.  She was loved by so many.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, with a viewing from 9:00 – 10:45 am prior to the service.  Afterwards, a gravesite dedication and prayer will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
