1930-2012

Ted passed away peacefully April 4, 2012 after a short stay in the hospital surrounded by his family. He was born March 11, 1930 to Oral John Preece and Viola Pugmire. He graduated Ogden High School in 1948. He served 4 years in the USAF during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Western Reserve University (now Case Western) with a degree of DDS. He practiced dentistry for 35 years in Bountiful and enjoyed his work. During that time, he met many great people who became life long friends.
Ted loved playing golf with his brothers and especially looked forward to trips to Mesquite with his sons and son-in-law. He became proficient at doing stained glass and made many beautiful works of art.
He married Carol Jean Harris September 1, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a life long member of the LDS church and served in various positions throughout his life.
Survived by his wife, four sons and one daughter; Jeff, Curtis (Carmen), Craig (Shelley), Todd (Abby), and Michelle (Linn). Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren whom he enjoyed immensely, and 3 brothers.
Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 beautiful granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Sterling Heights Ward located at 191 W. Monarch Dr., Bountiful. A visitation will be held the same day from 10:00-11:30 am prior to services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s name may be made to Primary Children’s Medical Center.
