Telesa Hortin

Born in West Valley, Utah, Telesa Hortin, 47, of Syracuse, Utah, returned to her loving Heavenly Father on Friday, October 11, 2024. Telesa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, whose kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of many. 

Telesa married the love of her life, Jason Hortin, on December 4, 1997. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two wonderful children, Elise and Bryce. She adored her family and had a unique way of making each person she interacted with feel truly special, especially those closest to her. 

Telesa was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she found great joy in serving in the Primary. Her love for children and her faith shone through in all her service, and she was beloved by the many children she worked with. Telesa's warmth, boundless compassion, and ability to uplift others made her cherished with her family, friends, and community. 

She had a deep passion for caring for foster kittens and always had a heart full of love for all of Heavenly Father’s creatures. 

Telesa is survived by her husband, Jason Hortin; her children, Elise and Bryce Hortin; her parents, Dennis and Joyce Savage; and her siblings, Shanna (Jeramy) Burkinshaw and Clint (Aimee) Savage. Preceded in death by her brother Brandon Savage and father-in-law Michael Hortin. 

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 535 West 2700 South, Syracuse, Utah. A light lunch and visitation with the family will follow the service. The interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Oakley Utah Cemetery.
