Our dear Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend Terri Lyn Moffitt, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 10, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep. Terri was 71 years young and lived her life to the fullest.
She was a devoted mother, a nurturing sister, and a loving partner. Terri has one child, Elisha Moffitt. The day Terri discovered she was expecting her beloved daughter, was one of the happiest days of her life. That very day she had to purchase a shirt announcing to the world that the “baby was on board”. Terri was a doting mother and very supportive in everything Elisha did.
Terri was married to Dave Moffitt, later divorced. She met her life partner Ron Finner in 2000. They have spent the last 22 years together, volunteering, traveling, and enjoying their time together.
Terri was a world traveler and loved to cruise. She visited almost every continent and had been on over 30 cruises. All the family have loving and fond memories of trips with Terri, including her constant mishap with her dentures, Terri and Ron being left in the grocery store in Russia, and Terri trying to climb down the escalator stairs at the Minnesota airport.
Terri’s brothers and sister, Todd, Kim, and John will be forever grateful for Terri’s nurturing love and care after the passing of their parents. Terri was about family and did the role of big sister very well. She was loving and giving; often coming up with great ideas to keep the littles entertained. Terri volunteered her whole life including time at St. Olaf’s catholic school and as a Guardian and other roles with Jobs Daughters Bethel 9. Terri loved her time as a volunteer with Ron at Shriners Children’s hospital. Between the two of them they had over 4500 volunteer hours.
Terri is preceded in death by her father Thern Blackburn, her mother Ardith Turcasso Dudley, her stepmother, Rae Blackburn, her stepfather Sheldon Dudley, and Grandma Betty Moffitt Hansen. She is survived by her life partner Ronald W Finner, daughter Elisha Moffitt and siblings: David Blackburn, Kathy Alberico, Anna Maria Freeman, Andrew Dudley, Todd Blackburn, Kim Blackburn Yoho, and John Blackburn. She also has many nephews and nieces.
Terri will be memorialized at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (1070 Foothill Dr, Salt Lake City, Utah) on Friday, November 18th, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. with a small reception to follow.
There will also be a Celebration of Life in January with additional details as the event draws nearer.
Flowers are always beautiful and appreciated, However, we are suggesting that a donation to the American Diabetes Association in Terri’s memory, instead. Let’s work together to help support their lifesaving work. American Diabetes Association | Research, Education, Advocacy
