Thella Siler Campbell passed away on March 23, 2022. She was born on August 27, 1931 to Leo and Matilda Siler. Thella was born in Ogden, Utah at the home of her parents. She grew up in Ogden and attended Dee Elementary, Mound Fort Jr. High and graduated from Ogden High School.
Thella went on to attend Ogden Business College. While working at a job for school she met her future husband Sterling H. Campbell. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 10, 1949 and enjoyed 49 years together until he passed away in 1997.
Thella worked at Hill Air Force Base and Defense Depot Ogden. She later owned a Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio. The also owned and operated motels in Roy and Kissimmee, Florida. She retired early and spent time between their farm in Alabama and their home in Florida. Later she moved back to Roy, Utah.
Thella was an avid Utah Jazz fan.
Thella was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel.
Thella is survived by four children: Teri (Mike) Headrick, Eric Campbell, Tamra (Brian) Shupe, Karen (Russell) Layton; one sister Connie (Dale) Baker; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her spouse Sterling H. Campbell, her son David S. Campbell, her parents Leo and Matilda Siler, brother Lawrence Siler, sister-in-law Genevie Siler.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah. There will be a viewing for friends and family to meet on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Russon Mortuary and prior to services on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.
Interment following services at Ben Lomond Cemetery.
