Thomas Anthony Eggett

April 21, 1956 — October 24, 2021

Brother Thomas “Tom” Anthony Eggett died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 24, 2021 in Cedar Park, Texas at the age of 65. Tom was born on April 21, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Bountiful, Utah with his mother, father, and seven siblings. After high school Tom honorably served a two year mission in Tennessee.

Tom then attended Brigham Young University where he grew to love teaching and music. After graduation, he was employed by several school districts; namely Davis County School District, teaching children of all ages and abilities. Tom retired in 2002 after over 20 years of teaching. He then volunteered for many years in many schools. Tom’s retirement life in Texas was full of church missionary service, dining out with family and friends, and many hours spent at the piano. He and his wife were married 31 years before she departed this earth to be with her Lord in 2011.

Tom, with his wife Sheryl, instilled in their children and grandchildren the importance of family, friends, commitment, laughter, love, respect for self, respect for others and especially to be respectful of those with disabilities. His children, grandchildren and anyone else who knew him will remember him for his musical talents, pranks, boisterous laugh, over the top personality, and his love… a love that was felt by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was passionate about music, spreading laughter, joy and smiles to each and everyone around him. His idol was Santa Claus and strived to be just like him. He was an active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he held many callings and served faithfully for many years. He loved to share the good news, the Gospel, to everyone to help them draw closer to God.

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas “Ross” Eggett and wife Stephanie, Jared Eggett and wife Roxanne, Elizabeth Krainman and husband Kevin. He was survived by brothers, Frank; sisters, Shirleen, Marleen, Kristeen, and Madaleen; sister-in-law Diane Anderson; 10 grandchildren, and many friends. He is preceded in death by wife Sheryl Williams Eggett; parents, Frank and Edna; brother, Robert; and sister, Kathleen.

All are welcome to attend the celebration of Tom’s life with his funeral service being held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful where a visitation will precede the service from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Bountiful City Cemetery.

An additional service and memorial will be held on November 6th at Lakeline Oaks in Cedar Park, TX at 10:00 AM.
