Thomas Donald Pay

November 4, 1919 — April 3, 2015

Much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Thomas Donald Pay (Don), born November 4, 1919 in Nephi, Utah, passed away peacefully in his home in Bountiful, Utah on April 3, 2015.  Thomas was the son of Edward James Pay and Eda Marion Tranter. He had an older brother Rex (deceased), and three sisters Florence Keiser (deceased), Alice Wanda Pay Bateman King, and Ruth Peterson.  He married Donna McMurray on June 29, 1946 in Nephi, Utah and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 29, 1949. Don served in the Army during WW II and then served 26 years in the Utah Air National Guard.  He was an avid outdoorsman and taught his boys how to hunt, fish and camp. He also loved to golf and would golf weekly with his old National Guard buddies. Don was an active church member and enjoyed working in the name extraction program. Thomas and Donna have four children: Thomas Darrell Pay (Diana), Jensen, UT, Gregory George Pay (Valarie), Antelope, CA, Jeffrey Edward Pay (Denise), North Salt Lake, UT, and Jerrold Donald Pay (Donna), Bountiful, UT. They have 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, who all love their grandpa for his funny stories, dry wit and always present candy treats.
Funeral services will be held at the LDS Chapel at 115 Wicker Lane in Bountiful at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 10, 2015.  Friends and family may visit Thursday, April 9, 2015, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, UT, and between 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the church. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
