Thomas Roper

Biography

Thom passed away peacefully due to complications from degenerative heart disease at the age of 67. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by close family and friends and was joyously reunited with his parents, older brother and oldest son. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Western States Mission. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Thom was an avid learner of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He will be remembered for his humor, knowledge of the gospel, and love for science fiction. He is survived by his son Matthew (Marci), grandchildren Madison and Cael, sister Lynda Hobson and wife Kate Santome Roper. He was preceded in death by his parents Odis Mason “Jack” and Margaret Dora Farnlund Roper, older brother Jack Odis Roper and oldest son Timothy Takahiro Sasaki Roper. Graveside services will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home, Idaho on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
