Tom Smith

April 4, 1937 — January 11, 2019

Tom did not go gentle into that good night. He loved a life of reckless adventure and provided it for his many friends. As a boat and airplane pilot, he had the chance to land his Mooney on the Hite runway and explore Lake Powell on his boat, the Hoskinini.
Born April 4, 1937 to Vivian Alan Smith and Madelyn Morrison. Attended Stewart School, East High and the U. of U. Married Margaret Scott, divorced. Married Martha Manning in 1968.
Tom did his part to clean up hazard wastes in the environment. He was the president of the Utah Pilots Association. Loved music and especially jazz and Wagner and his five cats.
Survived by his wife Marty; sons, Corey and Eric; daughters, Karen Christiansen (Blake) and Jenny Lowe (Tim); brother, Paul (Margaret, Zeph and Jennie). Preceded in death by his parents, brother Van, son Scott and great granddaughter Allison.
Special thanks to North Canyon Care Center and Legacy Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite liberal charity and start a new adventure in your life.
