Trisha Henson Brandon

Our valiant, courageous wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, devoted husband Billy, and beloved service dog, Vinnie.

Trisha was born in Murray, Utah to Dean and Dlorah Thomas Henson on October 1, 1976.  At the tender age of two and a half years, she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor and was not expected to live past age six.  However, Trisha was a surprise to everyone, including her doctors.  Her life included numerous surgeries and hundreds of hours spent at medical facilities.   However, with unwavering support and encouragement, she accomplished many unexpected milestones in her 41 years.  She was raised in Magna, Utah and attended Magna Elementary School, Brockbank Junior High School, graduating from Cyprus High School, her parents and siblings alma mater, in 1995.  She loved trips to the family cabin, where she enjoyed the excitement of snowmobiles in the winter and riding the four wheelers in the summer.  As July came around it was time for the annual camping trip to the Ponderosa campground in Nephi, Utah.  The Ute Stampede, parades and the rodeo with extended family were treasured events.  She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and they adored her in return.  Her driving skills left more than one with a near heart attack!  Disneyland trips with Grandma and Grandpa Thomas were a highlight of her childhood and lunch and shopping with Grandma and Grandpa Henson were a delight also.

She was an active member of the LDS church, graduating from seminary and institute and earned her Young Women’s medallion. Trisha furthered her education by taking online courses in veterinary medicine and sign language.  She served an LDS mission as a docent at the General Relief Building, in Salt Lake City, from January 2008 through September 2009.  She was a volunteer at the Bountiful Utah Temple for several years.  She also served as a volunteer at the Cancer Wellness House in Salt Lake
City. In spite of her limitations, she served faithfully as a visiting teacher and primary teacher where her influence and example of courage was felt and admired by many. Trisha had a strong, sweet testimony of Jesus Christ and was a light to all that crossed her path.  Her patience and goodness were apparent in all her relationships and she was described as a person “without guile.”

Trisha married William David Brandon on Dec. 30, 2010 in Farmington, Utah.  They were sealed for time and all eternity on March 1, 2014 in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple by Trisha’s father, Dean Henson. 

Trisha is survived by; her husband, Bill Brandon, parents, Dean and Dlorah Henson, siblings: Tammy (Eric) Leishman, Sonya (Kyle) Fowles, Greg (Chaine’) Henson, and Alicia(Mike) Gygi.   She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Jenna (Robert), Candice (Alden), Jordanae (Kyle), Jace,  Kaitlin (Pauli), Janessa, India (Christian), Jed, Hannah (Josh), Jacob, Elder Ethan, Elder Hunter, Parker, Logan, Megan and Kenley. With her marriage to Bill she became a step mother and step grandmother which helped fill her desire to be a mother and grandmother.  Her extended family includes many great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.   She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Reid and Marge Henson, Harold and Marie Thomas, Hilda Anderson Thomas and two nephews, Nathan and Gerald Gygi. 

A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 11, from 6- 8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah, 84025.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12 at noon at the LDS Stake Center at 695 South 200 East, Farmington, Utah, 84025 with a viewing at the church before the funeral from 10:30-11:45 am.  Interment: Farmington City Cemetery.
