Troy Newell Passey, 58, son, brother, dad, and grandpa unexpectedly left this life January 14, 2019. His presence at family gatherings and caring communication will be greatly missed.
Troy arrived July 6, 1960 to Roy S and Lois Bartschi Passey in Montpelier, Idaho and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and Bountiful, Utah. He would be the only brother to four grateful sisters. He enjoyed work as an electrical lineman and was a proud member of IBEW Local 57. He liked living near the rugged mountains in Salt Lake City, watching sports, especially the Raiders and Utah Utes, and his Gold Wing motorcycle. He loved his dogs and treated them as family. He played guitar and fast pitch softball, created ceramics and painted, and made a delicious chili verde. He was an expert historical records indexer and had a killer Nike shoe collection, which he kept tidy in their boxes for storage. His thoughtfulness included sending handpicked greeting cards in the mail and buying corsages for special occasions. He loved his family so much.
He is survived by his sons Christopher Roy Passey and Travis James Passey with their wives and children. He also leaves behind his mother and sisters and their families, full of nieces and nephews he cared about and aunts, uncles, and cousins he loved. We find solace knowing he has sweet relief and can now enjoy time with his dad, who he missed every day. We love you, Troyboy!
Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main, Bountiful, Utah from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Interment at 11:00 am at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
