Tyler Murdock passed away Friday February 15th, 2019 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 31. He was born June 11, 1987 in Bountiful, Utah to Brian W. and Lisa A. Murdock. Tyler grew up in Centerville, Utah and enjoyed playing basketball against anyone who enjoyed a challenge. He found his passion for weightlifting during his sophomore year at Viewmont High School, where he graduated in 2005. Despite not playing football in high school, Tyler had a goal to play in college and he walked-on to the Snow College football team. He then began a career in the automotive industry working with his father at Land Rover Centerville. Tyler continued his career in Illinois and Oregon, where he quickly climbed the ranks to become sales manager at a high volume luxury dealership before the age of 30. He was truly wise beyond his years and enjoyed the challenge of meeting lofty goals.
Throughout his years, Tyler enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to go fast on both two- and four-wheels, and he used his social skills to talk his way out of many speeding tickets. His social skills also led to new friendships at various places including airports, restaurants, or simply walking down the sidewalk. Tyler had the ability to connect with people young and old in an instant. He also loved traveling the world. Tyler was happiest on weekend getaways to Cannon Beach, Oregon with his beloved dog Murda. He would throw Murda a ball for hours and call his friends and family on the way home to complain about his sore shoulder. Tyler loved being a doggy dad more than anything.
Tyler is survived by his parents, his best friend and brother Kyle, his sister Jamie (Corey), and his three nephews: Owen, Mason, and Miles. He is also survived by his Grandma Murdock, Grandpa Peterson, and Great Grandma Schein. Over the past year, Tyler has experienced significant challenges, both physical and emotional, which he could take no more. His larger than life presence will be missed by all of those who love him. Tyler didn't like flowers, so please call a friend, go to lunch, and make a memory with them.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 22nd, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah.
