It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear son, Tyson James Florence, who has returned home to his loving Heavenly Father.
Tyson was known as a genuine, wholehearted, and good person. He truly loved others. He served a two-year mission in the San Francisco area for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which brought him great joy. Whether great or small, Tyson was often found giving of his time, effort, or resources in a way that made the world a better place. He was a good artist and found great enjoyment and solace in playing the piano.
Insatiably inquisitive, Tyson was a lifelong learner. He was almost always reading, engaged in some type of coursework, learning a new hobby, or simply seeking new and deeper experiences. He loved to put his learning to work and share it with those around him. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Masters of Business Administration, and was currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Human-Centered Design and Engineering, with numerous other certificates associated with those fields.
Although he did not always follow the masses, Tyson was honest in his intent, and lived a life with integrity to his beliefs and values. Most notably Tyson is known for his personal hope and perseverance toward betterment, both for himself and others.
Tyson was born December 23, 1977, in Provo, Utah, and passed away on March 27, 2023, in Seattle, Washington. He is survived by his parents, James “Jim” and Tracey Florence, sister Jasmine Jenson, brother Blake Florence (Carley), and sister Courtney Bray (Tyler). Tyson had a special affinity for his nieces and nephews: Braxton, Kinsley, and Ellie Jenson; Austin and Maeve Florence; Boston, Easton, and Carson Bray. He was preceded in death by his niece Harleigh Jenson. Family was very important to him and he loved them very much.
We are grateful to be his parents and family and look forward to the time when we will be together once again.
Until then; Tyson, we love you and will miss you so very much!!
