On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Veneice Mae Bott Parkin, loving wife and mother, passed away quietly at the age of 89.
Born on March 8th, 1933, to Henry A. Sr. and Marie Russell Bott. She was the youngest of 3 children and the last surviving sibling.
She grew up in Salt Lake City where she attended West High School and was active in many things. One of her interests was taking steel guitar lessons beginning at the age of nine. Little did she know at the time that her instructor would become her husband of 67 years, LeRoy Parkin of West Bountiful, Utah. They were married on her birthday, March 8th, 1952. Together they had 3 children.
She worked several jobs throughout her life, but spent the most time at Freeway Heating and Air Conditioning where she retired. She volunteered at Lakeview Hospital and served the local community for years.
She loved her children and grandchildren and made family events special. She spent many years bowling on mixed double and ladies leagues. She also enjoyed golfing with the family and spent many hours at Oakridge Country Club. She liked playing cards with friends and traveling with her husband.
There is comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who preceded her in death, her parents, siblings, husband LeRoy, son Alan and grandson Brandon McCulley.
She is survived by her children Terry (Kathy), Jill Pope (Richard), 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
It was her wish to have a family service at the gravesite only.
